![]() Back then, “I told them to stop,” he cried. Meanwhile, having passed by a priest in the Season 4 finale, a shaken Wyatt admitted to Anna when they got back home that he’d just seen one of the ones who’d molested him. Right before we went to a commercial, Oscar, in possibly the shortest scene ever, watched on a monitor as LaQuita was busted by the cops. (Was she eye-screwing Broderick during this scene, or what?) Finally, she threatened to have Jim kicked out if he didn’t give her Wyatt’s address. If he needed a new place to live, perhaps he could crash with Celine? In response, he argued that Katheryn really didn’t want the divorce as badly as she thought, because if they split, he could be compelled to testify against her. And, as a matter of fact, Katheryn did think he was going to take it. “You really think I’m going to take this?” he warned. Maybe he could turn a trick to raise money? He liked whores, after all, she pointed out. But her lawyer had advised her to keep their funds separate until the divorce was final. | Downstairs at the hotel, Jim was making a scene about his declined credit card with handsome young Broderick when Katheryn arrived, smiling like the cat that was about to swallow the canary. ‘MY CREDIT CARD WAS JUST DECLINED, KATE!’ The haves and the have nots season 5 episode 1 recap veronica dies “My family,” she spat back, “was cremated.” When Benny tried to insist that he and Hanna were her family as well as Q was, and invited her to come stay at their mom’s new house, she just shook her head in disbelief. That being the case, Benny tried to reassure her that when she got past that anger, her family would be there for her. “I’m gonna get even with them,” she said, referring to Jim, David, etc. Not only did she freely admit that she was stealing from would-be clients, she remained 100 percent committed to bringing down the curtain on the tragic chain of events that her manipulations had set in motion. But you can probably predict how that went. On his way out, the man passed Benny, who made yet another last-ditch attempt to get through to his sister. She didn’t and, adding that she knew who he was, suggested that he leave, fast, and be glad that she’d only robbed him. “You think you’ll really get it for $1,800?” He did. ![]() “Is that it?” she asked, upon finding $1,800 in there. ‘YOU STARTED THIS!’ | At the hotel, Candace escorted a john into her room and had him hand over his wallet. ![]() As the scene drew to a close, Hanna volunteered to come by Katheryn’s new house - not to stay on, just to help her new maid figure out how the lady of the manor liked things. The hotel that Jim could no longer afford. “He’s just the manager of the hotel,” Katheryn replied. She’d even cancelled all of his credit cards! So “who is Broderick that’s got you smiling like that?” Hanna asked. When she hung up, she explained to her friend that oh yeah, she was very serious about divorcing Jim. After Mitch dropped by, and he and Benny excused themselves to the kitchen, Katheryn got a call from a man named Broderick that had her grinning from ear to ear. Not after everything that went down between their families. When Hanna expressed discomfort at not having her own money, Katheryn suggested that she come back and manage her new home. ‘I NEVER LIVED ANYWHERE I DIDN’T HAVE TO PAY’ | At Hanna’s new home, Katheryn comforted her friend in the wake of her Season 4 finale confrontation with Candace at the funeral home. In the end, Justin only went so far as to admit that he “took care of” her before copping a feel while re-cuffing the prisoner. When Jeffrey apologized for what Veronica did, Justin said not to worry, “we got that bitch.” What did he mean by that? Jeffrey asked. What’s more, he had no intention of losing Jeffrey. After assuring Jeffrey that he’d disabled the cameras in the room, Justin revealed that there had been no developments with his wife… as he hadn’t been home since the big courtroom reveal. ‘YOU’RE MY MAN’ | As “Afraid of Flames” began, Justin, pretending he wasn’t already well-acquainted with Jeffrey, escorted him from his cell to an interrogation room… and moved in for a kiss. But what we really wanted to know going into the episode was, did Veronica die in the Season 4-ending car crash brought about by the unlikely tag team of Justin and Melissa? Well?!? Read on and find out! ![]() Did Veronica really die? Promos for the Season 5 premiere of OWN’s The Haves and the Have Nots focused only on Candace’s thirst for revenge - against her mother, the Cryers, David… pretty much everyone who’s ever been on the show.

Blood pressure medication3/5/2023 ![]() The ultimate decision about treatment for each person should be informed by the fact that a definitive benefit hasn't been consistently shown for lowering blood pressure below 140 in people without known disease (we call this primary prevention). A group of experts in the field will look at all the evidence and give its opinion about whom to treat and when.īut how useful will general guidelines be for individual patients, given the conflicting evidence? How confidently will the experts be able to recommend strategies for people in the middle range of blood pressure? The field is waiting eagerly for the next version of national guidelines about blood pressure. Or could it be that pushing blood pressure to ever-lower levels, even in a group at modest risk of heart disease and stroke, is just not producing benefit?īlood Pressure Ruckus Reveals Big Secret In Medicine Participants in the study had an average age of 65 years, about half were women, a quarter were smokers and almost all were overweight. Could the results be explained by something about these medications? HOPE-3 used common antihypertensive medications, an angiotensin receptor blocker called candesartan and a diuretic called hydrochlorothiazide. These analyses were planned at the outset of the study, so we tend to give them a bit more weight. The investigators explored the data further and found some evidence that the group in the highest third of blood pressure at the start (an average top number of 154) seemed to have a lower risk, while the group in the lowest third at the start (average of 122) seemed to do worse. The risks of death from cardiovascular causes, heart attacks, strokes and other problems weren't different between the groups. However, after almost six years of follow-up, the investigators determined that lower blood pressure didn't translate into lower risk. Study participants in the group that got blood pressure medicine had their systolic blood pressure lowered about 6 points more than those in the placebo group. So what did HOPE-3 find? The blood pressure medications worked. ![]() In fact, a third of the people had a beginning blood pressure less than 132. Some people's pressures were higher and some were lower, or course. At the time of randomization, the average systolic blood pressure was 138. The researchers in the study randomized 12,705 people with at least one cardiovascular risk factor (like high cholesterol) to get blood pressure medication or placebo. The findings were published April 2 by in The New England Journal of Medicine. Then there's the SPRINT trial, whose results were released last November and suggested that people without diabetes, even older people, would benefit by seeking to get their blood pressure down to around 120.Īnother study, called HOPE-3 for short, added important evidence about the treatment of blood pressure that will further unsettle the field. Some believe that for older patients, who may be more sensitive to medications, the recommendations should be more permissive and not push for treatment that brings blood pressure below 140. The consensus is that the benefit of drugs for those who didn't respond to lifestyle changes exceeds the risks of treatment. What about medicines for people whose blood pressure is high but less than 150? Most doctors agree that people younger than 60 would do well to keep their blood pressure less than 140. Too many people have untreated and uncontrolled marked elevations of blood pressure and many devastating health problems could be prevented if we could help people get proper treatment. Medicines can help reduce the risk for people with higher blood pressure, say 150 millimeters of mercury and above for systolic pressure, the top number. Those are good habits for everyone, in fact. A healthful diet, at least moderate physical activity and weight control can bring down your blood pressure. ![]() Your lifestyle can influence your blood pressure. Your risk of health problems - such as heart disease, stroke and kidney disease - increases with higher blood pressure. Around the world, high blood pressure causes a lot of harm. Let's review first where there is agreement. Now there's new evidence that could make the decisions even more challenging. have failed to reach consensus on recommendations about when drug therapy should be started. Are you ready for some more uncertainty about blood pressure treatment?ĭecisions about blood pressure have gotten more difficult over the past couple of years as experts in the U.S.

Path of exile reddit3/5/2023 This sounds like something I would play for three months, to play some builds I still haven’t had time to check out. Since I’m not a dev, all I can do is have ideas. I’m trying to find something positive and find some way to help my favorite game. Maybe even an interesting test if it’s SSF only, I don’t know. If we’re concerned about standard, then make it a void league. Lucky talismans, recombinators, original harvest with ability to stash hortistations, and restore the league drop chance. As far as I know, there was no data or validation behind this speculation. Let’s do a full-capability league to validate or disprove this hypothesis that “finishing a build” encourages players to quit. You have become the problem with the game.Įxperimentation is really important to make sure Path of Exile 2 is well received and economically successful so GGG and their game stays at the top. ![]() You are making the same mistakes you made fun of Blizzard for making. Life is short, time can't be replaced, and you're wasting so much of ours. The vast majority of players, however, do not have the time to waste on this shit. Do literally anything else, I don't have the right answers. If you want to make a harder game, make a mode that caps your defenses at a lower number, and also inflicts a penalty to quant and magic find, since that seems to be what you want to play. This is the shit ActivizionBlizzard has been pulling for years, divorcing their "vision" from what the players actually enjoy doing in the game, hemorrhaging subscribers and good will in the process. But you know that the backlash will be enormous and you're terrified of that. ![]() If the Vision was actually a good vision you'd share it in detail and explain what you want to make without any of the PR speak. Doing that to something people like already for very specific reasons (The majority of us like to zoom and juice) that are basically the opposite of the sequels design principles is, and pardon my french here, fucking braindead and egotistical beyond measure. You can make a sequel have different mechanics and people will be excited for a change of pace and different experience. You don't have to be a chef to know you're eating a shit sandwich.Īll these changes to the game are being made to ease people into the inevitable PoE2 launch patch, which will basically overwrite PoE as we know it, much like Overwatch is doing now.

Ryley walker age3/5/2023 ![]() Back in 2009, still in his teens, he had frequented the improv nights hosted by Bach at a restaurant/gallery space called Whistler. Ryley had been a long-time admirer of sometime Wilco multi-instrumentalist LeRoy Bach. With only one person on his shortlist, once again, all roads led back to Chicago. “Jeff Parker was the guitarist with Tortoise, and I used to listen to him a lot,” recalls Ryley, who figured that, for the first time in his career, it might be helpful to enlist the services of a producer. Some of his formative musical memories had been shaped by the work of pioneering Chicago acts such as Gastr del Sol and Tortoise. He went into the studio over the Christmas vacation to record Golden Sings That Have Been Sung whose songs were directly wedded to Ryley’s return to Chicago. Although, a holiday was the last thing on Ryley’s mind – and certainly not a holiday in his adopted hometown. However you wished to measure it, he was surely due some sort of holiday. In November 2015, at the end of a ten-month period which saw Ryley play over 200 shows in support of Primrose Green, Ryley decided that he should probably head home. Robert Plant declared himself a fan – as did double-bass legend Danny Thompson, with whom Ryley embarked on a British tour. It’s the triumphant follow up to his breakout album, Primrose Green, which earned critical hosannas from the likes of NPR, Village Voice, Uncut, and Mojo and admiration of musicians who had chalked up no shortage of turntable miles in Walker’s life. Ryley Walker is pleased to announce his new album, Golden Sings That Have Been Sung, coming out August 19th on Dead Oceans.

(Opens in a new window) Read Our Vipre Endpoint Security Cloud ReviewĮSET Protect Complete (EPC) starts at $382.50 for five devices per year, which breaks down to $76.50 for each device. For that, you'll need to jump to the tier we tested, ESET Protect Complete. That sounds pretty good, except many businesses will need email and cloud app security measures, too. Feature-wise, the Advanced tier has everything the Entry tier does and adds a safe app sandbox and full-disk encryption. Per device, that cost breaks down to $49.60 if you're able to take advantage of the discount, or $62.10 at full price. This tier is discounted to $248.40 per year for five devices as of this writing, while it would ordinarily cost $310.50. It also includes protection for Linux and Windows servers, including the Microsoft Azure cloud.ĮSET recommends the next tier, ESET Protect Advanced, as the baseline for most businesses. This tier comes with the full set of management tools plus ESET's endpoint protection measures for desktops, mobile devices, and virtual machines. The first tier is Protect Entry and starts at $239 per year for five devices, which breaks down to $47.90 per device. Like many of the offerings in our round-up, the Protect suite is available in more than one pricing tier, each with its own feature set. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. ( Read our editorial mission (Opens in a new window) & see how we test everything we review (Opens in a new window).) The omission of certain advanced features, most notably endpoint detection and response (EDR), leaves Protect Complete trailing behind our current Editor's Choice winners: Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra, F-Secure Elements, and Sophos X Intercept Endpoint Protection. ESET has continued to improve its offerings, but it hasn't done enough relative to its competitors to place it at the top of the heap of cloud-based endpoint protection services. Unfortunately, while Endpoint Protection Standard earned our Editor's Choice award, Protect Complete simply doesn't distinguish itself enough to win that status. It's available in three pricing tiers: Entry, Advanced, and Complete. The platform supports Windows, Linux, and macOS desktops with full feature parity, in addition to Android and iOS mobile devices. This leaves the Protect suite as ESET's current managed, cloud-based product line, and it's also the offering the company recommends for new users. Previously, we reviewed ESET Endpoint Protection Standard, but ESET now positions that as its on-premises product.

Devin ryan jmp3/4/2023 ![]() ![]() So it's an important question, especially for the near term. But in the case of Q4 and the numbers looking ahead for Robinhood, how easy is it going to be for them to meet those?ĭEVIN RYAN: Yeah. Obviously, there have been a lot of companies that have followed the roadmap of promise high. How much does that maybe matter when we think about what could come? Obviously, as our chart shows here, they've run into issues before when it comes to maybe under-delivering. So it is going to be interesting to see how much that attracts, in terms of new users, crypto-savvy users when that comes out in Q1.īut the other piece of your note that stood out to me was just kind of around estimations that they've been putting out there and guidelines for Q4. I mean, you can't really be a crypto company out there, call yourself a crypto company and not have a crypto wallet. ![]() And she's reiterated the Q1 rollout for their wallets and been testing and says those tests are going well. And I mean, we've chatted with their head of crypto, Christine Brown, on the show multiple times this year. And people are under-appreciating it, because Robinhood's not giving everybody their full product roadmap, which is smart because competitors tend to follow what they do. I would not be surprised to see Robinhood do something there. I heard your prior guest talking about NFTs. And then in 2022, we expect to see a lot of new product launches. And so on the fundamentals, we think fundamentals are better than some people appreciate because you added 25 million new investors.Īnd those investors, even if they trade at a lower rate, will still be active. You add new accounts around product launches. You add new accounts around market events. So 2021 was a much better year than even the prior record of 2020.Īnd this is not a business that ever moves on a straight line. In 2021, we estimate it was more like 15 million, probably something a little bit shy of that. When I look at the market, you had, in our estimation, about 10 million new investors come to the market in 2020. They had a soft third quarter, commentary about the reopening trade, and so retail investors are going back to work and people aren't investing. And there's a lot of negativity around the stock right now. The fundamental dynamic, I would argue, is better than most people appreciate. So it'll be really interesting to see where short interest ends up when we get the most recent print. And then when all of the float increased, what that did was it made shorting the stock a lot easier. So you might have seen some shorting in the stock. And I think investors that are savvy probably got ahead of that as well. So that creates a little bit of technical overhang, in our opinion. And so the market cap today still $16 billion, which means that a lot of that money that came in from investors when Robinhood was private, they're still very much in the money on that investment. And over the course of a month from, really, into December 1, you had 600 million shares unlock and essentially become tradable, which means that that created, in our opinion, a lot of technical selling pressure, because if you recall, Robinhood's had this meteoric rise in valuation over the past few years.Īnd earlier this year in the last fundraise before going public, they were valued at just under $12 billion. On the technical side, and I think this is underappreciated in the market, is that when they went public, they had roughly 70 million shares that were tradable in the float. There's both technical dynamics, and there's fundamental dynamics. And we've been talking about this, I think even on your show recently. So talk to me about what investors might be missing now.ĭEVIN RYAN: Sure. You have a price target of 58 though, and seem to think that there is a lot of upside for this name.
